About The Position
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Lift Truck Operator / Warehouse Worker to join a fast-paced distribution environment. This position is responsible for safely receiving, storing, picking, and shipping food products while operating a variety of material handling equipment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a cold storage environment, operating forklifts and pallet jacks, using RF scanners, and meeting daily productivity and safety standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent warehouse experience may be considered
- Previous warehouse, distribution, or forklift experience preferred
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to meet production and performance standards
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Willingness to work overtime, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload products using forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, stand-up reach/straddle trucks, pallet jacks, double pallet jacks, and walk-behind equipment
- Move products to designated storage locations
- Stack and store products safely and efficiently
- Pick and prepare customer orders for shipment
- Inspect products and freight for accuracy, damage, or potential infestation
- Label, sort, wrap, pack, and repack products as needed
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and product movement
- Assist with physical inventory counts
- Maintain accurate product and inventory records
- Charge or change forklift batteries as needed
- Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns immediately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse
- Follow OSHA standards, company safety procedures, and food-handling requirements
- Meet established productivity and quality standards
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned
