Lift Truck Operators operate varied styles and models of powered industrial trucks to transport, locate, relocate, stack, and load or unload finished goods, raw materials, and other products within warehouse, distribution, and production areas. Operators are expected to maneuver equipment at a reasonable and prudent speed, remain alert to pedestrians and other motorized vehicles, and handle products and equipment carefully to protect products, building structures, and property. The role requires company training and authorization, as well as the mechanical knowledge and skills to operate a lift truck safely and professionally under all conditions. The position places strong importance on responsibility, safety, effective teamwork, clear communication, sound judgment, mechanical orientation, and dedication to product quality. Duties may vary by assignment in Distribution, Warehouse (Inventory/Receiving), or Kitting. Associates are expected to work with minimal supervision after initial training and may be asked to assist with other duties or departments as needed to meet customer requirements. The role is performed on a manufacturing/production floor. Associates are frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, and floating particles; some areas require hearing protection. Parts of the plant and warehouse are not climate controlled, so exposure to heat or cold may occur. The position involves sitting or standing for most of the shift, operating equipment and controls, bending and twisting, and lifting typically less than 50 pounds.
