About The Position

The Lift Truck Operator (LTO) is responsible for receiving, putting away, picking, transferring, and shipping raw ingredients, packaging supplies, and finished goods. This role involves using an ERP application for task completion, maintaining warehouse cleanliness, ensuring proper inventory rotation and accuracy, and adhering to safety and food safety practices. The LTO will also work closely with warehouse and operations leads, monitor storage rack capacity, and eliminate workplace hazards. This position requires the ability to work in various climates, including cold environments, and a manufacturing setting that can be wet and cold.

  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 2/3 of working time.
  • Ability to work in cold environments (Cooler, Freezer)

Responsibilities

  • Receive raw ingredients and packaging supplies according to specified procurement and quality guidelines.
  • Put away all raw ingredients and packaging supplies in the appropriate storage locations.
  • Pick and transfer raw ingredients and packaging supplies from warehouse storage to operation departments as requested.
  • Ensure proper rotation of raw ingredients, first expired – first out.
  • Return ingredients and packaging supplies back to proper storage locations after usage.
  • Transfer finished goods to rack locations and/or shipping docks.
  • Pick, follow first in – first out, and ship finished goods via shuttles or direct to the customer in accordance with all quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Effectively complete all the above-mentioned tasks through an ERP application.
  • Maintain cleanliness of warehouse to include dry, frozen, and cooler storage, and all receiving and shipping docks as well as the finished goods cooler.
  • Maintain strong working relations with warehouse and operations leads.
  • Monitor the accuracy of inventory locations and tags.
  • Effectively communicate inventory discrepancies and other issues to the lead and manager as appropriate.
  • Practice safe forklift operating procedures.
  • Maintain food safety practices.
  • Monitor for safe load capacity on storage racks.
  • Monitor safe storage procedures to eliminate workplace hazards.
  • Other duties as required.
