About The Position

This role involves operating a lift truck to unload trucks, supply hydraulic loaders with cross ties, and move and stack processed ties to the tie yard. The position also requires completing correct paperwork for delivery truck processing, marking truckloads by supplier, and collecting and disposing of yard waste material. Additionally, the operator will perform ground and building maintenance as needed, and other assigned lift truck duties. A key aspect of this role includes adhering to all Safety, Health, and Environmental (SH&E) regulations, policies, and procedures, including prompt reporting of incidents, unsafe conditions, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

• Pass preemployment medical screening.
• Certified as a powered industrial equipment operator.
• Trained as authorized personnel and/or affected personnel for lockout/tagout.
• Demonstrates acceptable retention level for the required training elements.
• Trained to handle hazardous waste.

Responsibilities

• Operates lift truck in the unloading of trucks.
• Supplies hydraulic loader with cross ties.
• Completes correct paper work for delivery truck processing.
• Correctly marks each truckload as to supplier.
• Moves and stacks processed ties to tie yard.
• Collects and disposes of yard waste material.
• Performs ground and building maintenance, when required.
• Performs other lift truck duties as assigned.
• Complies with all SH&E regulations and corporate and plant SH&E policies and procedures.
• Promptly and properly reports all incidents, injuries, damages, spills and/or releases.
• Promptly reports and, if possible, corrects all unsafe acts and/or conditions.
• Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) required by the applicable PPE hazard assessments.
• Completes all SH&E inspections assigned by management.
• Performs required housekeeping activities.
• Watches for drippage from treated ties in the yard and reports to any to Yard Supervisor.
• Promptly reports and cleans up hydraulic leaks.
