About The Position

This position is responsible for pulling orders in a timely manner for shipping and moving product or materials using powered vehicles. The role involves operating industrial manual/powered pallet jacks, stockers, pickers, or Hysters while ensuring compliance with regulatory and company policies. Key tasks include identifying labels and products, using scanners/CRTs or reports to locate merchandise, checking schedules for pulling areas (UPS/FEDEX weekly or cross dock), logging pull groups and labels, picking orders based on pull sheets or SKU summaries, and transporting pulled orders to the packing floor. A floater may be assigned to stage orders for packers and maintain carton inventory on the floor. Specific guidelines apply to the number of rugs on racks for UPS/FEDEX orders. If no tasks are available, the employee should seek instructions from a supervisor or lead person.

Requirements

Read, write, and comprehend English.
Computer experience required.
Must be able to follow directions as given.
Knowledge of AS400.
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
Proven experience as order picker or other warehouse position.
Experience or license in handling forklifts, pallets jacks, stand up lifts, reach lift and other warehouse equipment.
Experience in voice picking systems or RF devices.
Great attention to detail.
Diligent and punctual.

Responsibilities

Pull orders in a timely manner for shipping.
Move product or materials using powered vehicles.
Operate industrial manual/powered pallet jack, stocker, picker, or Hyster.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
Pass licensing certifications for all assigned equipment.
Read and interpret carton/product labels for picking orders.
Use scanner/CRT and/or reports to identify merchandise for movement.
Check calendar to determine pulling areas (UPS/FEDEX weekly or cross dock).
Log all pull groups and labels out for pulling.
Pick up a rack or a cage for pulling orders.
Pull orders based off the pull sheet or SKU summary by location and units.
Take racks or cages to the packing floor as they are pulled and stage in the proper area.
Stage orders for packers and keep the proper cartons on the floor for packers if assigned as a floater.
Follow instructions from supervisor or lead person if no tasks are available.
