Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
  • Must be an effective team member.
  • Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others in the immediate work unit and in related support areas.
  • Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to operate a computer.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Frequently required to reach, handle, stand, walk, sit, and stoop.
  • Work in a normal industrial environment with inherent background noise, dirt, humidity, and temperature variations.
  • Requires regular lifting up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • 6+ months forklift experience preferred
  • Experience working with a hand held barcode scanner and computer is preferred
  • Successful completion of all required on the job training.
  • Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.

Responsibilities

  • Operates sit down forklift to transport materials between storage areas and trucks.
  • Operate and follow instructions as directed by an onboard RF unit.
  • Complies with all safety rules and procedures.
  • Assists in the unloading of shuttles on and loading of trucks.
  • Pulls bulk pallets of flooring from warehouse to docks.
  • Communicates with office staff on upcoming needs in support of the direct loading program (ie. trailers needed, when full and need replacement)
  • Loads trailers in support of the direct loading program in a safe, efficient manner avoiding damage to newly created product with proper loading techniques
  • Inspects pallets for quality assurance at designated times based on volume and product
  • Maintains proper housekeeping in the outfeed area (sweeping, emptying trash/recycling bins and dumpsters)
  • Performs Cycle Counts for picking and bulk Locations
  • Audits pallets to ensure accurate order fulfillment
  • Participates in Zero Contact Forklift Program through daily inspection of Powered Industrial Equipment
  • Communicates with Team Lead on location discrepancies
  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
  • Follow all established standard operating procedures
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management
