About The Position

Keystone is currently seeking experienced lift mechanics of all levels for a rare opening on their team. This is a full-time, year-round position perfect for someone interested in living in Summit County and growing with the department. Compensation will be based on experience and certifications. The primary responsibility is to ensure the safe and reliable mechanical operation of lifts, with an emphasis on proficiency, instruction, safety, and leadership. The Mechanic must keep the Lift Mechanical Manager, Lift Dispatch, and Department Director informed of any abnormal conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent - required
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License - preferred
  • Read, write, and speak English
  • Able and willing to work in inclement weather on high structures
  • Basic working knowledge of desktop computer systems and applications
  • Intermediate level skier would be helpful
  • Climbing certified or ability to obtain - required
  • Understand all major components of a lift and their purpose
  • Knowledge of basic hand and power tools
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Minimum two years specific experience in Lift Maintenance (for Level II)
  • General understanding of ANSI and CPTSB codes (for Level II)
  • Able to complete, unassisted, detachable lift service and terminal inspections (for Level II)
  • Proficient in all phases of Lift Mechanic III requirements (for Level III)
  • Must be proficient at troubleshooting all “down” lifts (for Level III)
  • Must maintain reasonable level of spare parts to ensure full repair capability (for Level III)
  • At least four years of lift maintenance experience - required (for Level III)
  • Proven Master-Level Lift Mechanic skills and abilities (for Level III)
  • Must be knowledgeable of regulatory codes as they pertain to lifts (for Level III)
  • Snowmobile and vehicle trained - required (for Level III)
  • Certified Level II NDT Inspector - required (for Level III)
  • Ability to perform major lift modifications (for Level III)
  • Ability to overhaul or rebuild all line and terminal equipment (for Level III)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe and reliable mechanical operation of lifts.
  • Follow the company’s safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Perform and schedule all preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure that lifts are in compliance with CPTSB and other applicable codes and regulations.
  • Respond to lift failures to productively resolve these situations in a timely manner.
  • Maintain all tools, equipment, and vehicles as assigned.
  • Record all information of work performed on lifts and submit lift records in a timely manner.
  • Evacuate a lift under auxiliary power in all circumstances.
  • Level III Mechanics will be responsible for the performance and training of Lift Maintenance personnel in all routine and assigned maintenance procedures under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager and Mechanic Lead.
