About The Position

The Lift Mechanic performs diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on distribution center equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • forklift truck mechanics training course certification or at least 1 year experience in related mechanical field preferred.
  • In depth mechanical knowledge of material handling products
  • Proper use of hand and power tools
  • Good knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal service
  • Good Techniques in repairing equipment
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge on safety and ergonomics
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong Proficiency in computers

Responsibilities

  • Schedules and performs routine maintenance.
  • Repairs and replaces damaged or worn parts.
  • Operates and inspects machines to diagnose defects.
  • Tests mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance work on equipment.
  • Reads and understands operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Diagnoses faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
  • Researches, orders, and maintains parts inventory for service and repairs.
  • Repairs, rewires, and troubleshoots electrical systems.
  • Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
  • Examines and repairs hydraulic system.
  • Examines and repairs brake systems on all equipment.
  • Cleans parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in tanks of solvent.
