About The Position

Responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of all Snowbasin aerial, conveyor, and cable tow lifts. The Level I Mechanic will assist with general year round ski lift maintenance, opening and closing lifts, and maintaining efficient and reliable lift operations while becoming familiar with ANSI, UPRSC, and Forest Service regulations. The Level II Mechanic has the skills and experience necessary to maintain most lift-related equipment, is responsible for properly training Entry Level mechanics, has a good understanding of most lift systems, and is familiar with ANSI, UPRSC, Forest Service and OSHA regulations. The Mechanic should also possess good troubleshooting skills including reading schematics, volt/ohm meter use (24V) and identifying mechanical abnormalities.

Requirements

  • 18 yrs. or older
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Physically capable of heavy lifting to shoulder height up to 100lbs.
  • Ski/snowboarding skills are necessary for traveling to lifts and lift towers.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills are necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • 4 yrs. industry experience preferred.
  • NDT Level II, Class 4 & 7 Lift Truck and welding certifications are highly recommended.
  • Snowmobile and four-wheeler operating skills are ideal.

Responsibilities

  • Confidently perform inspections, and maintenance of all ski lift equipment.
  • Ensure lifts compliance with ANSI, Forest Service and Manufacture specifications.
  • Conduct and document daily pre-operational inspections on assigned lift/lifts prior to 9am.
  • Regularly monitor the condition of assigned lifts and react to discrepancies accordingly.
  • Assist with skills and safety development of less experienced mechanics.
