About The Position

The Lift and Rigging Engineer Manager is a senior-level professional responsible for leading and overseeing complex lifting operations in the construction industry. This role demands extensive expertise, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of high-risk lift procedures. The engineer will mentor junior staff, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and efficient lifting solutions.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either an ABET accredited program in the USA or an engineering program, offered by a foreign institution, accepted as valid in the home country or the country in which the individual is practicing.
6+ yrs construction management experience in similar facility construction.
PE required or degree + 10 yrs design experience and 6+ yrs construction experience.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering with current PE (Professional Engineer) license.
Extensive experience in lifting and rigging operations, preferably in the construction industry.
Proficient in lifting simulation software and CAD tools.
In-depth knowledge of lifting codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning and execution of complex and high-risk lifting operations.
Develop and approve comprehensive lifting plans and method statements.
Conduct site inspections and risk assessments for critical lifts.
Ensure compliance with national and international safety standards (e.g., OSHA, LOLER).
Mentor and supervise Lifting Trainee, Level 1, and Level 2 Lifting professionals.
Coordinate with project managers, crane operators, rigging teams, and subcontractors.
Review and approve lifting equipment certifications and inspection records.
Participate in lifting incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Contribute to the development of lifting procedures and stamp when required.
