About The Position

Lifestyle support workers (LSW's) play a vital role in supporting recipients to live their best life, empowering individuals to build confidence, work towards their goals, and improve their mental wellbeing. This role involves working one-on-one in the homes and communities of recipients to support them in living as independently as possible. Support activities may include assisting with household tasks like cleaning, organizing, preparing healthy meals, or maintaining a yard, and generally helping recipients make positive choices. A key aspect of the role is to improve recipients' confidence in accessing the community and engaging in activities that help them achieve their goals. The position also requires providing transport to and from various activities such as shopping, gym visits, social events, and appointments.

Requirements

  • Possess clear and effective communication skills
  • Demonstrate computer literacy and accuracy in record management
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Exhibit an ability to problem solve
  • Be able to follow policies and procedures at all times
  • Be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
  • A current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence
  • A currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive vehicle
  • A current nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificate (or the ability to obtain)
  • A Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'

Responsibilities

  • Support recipients to live their best life, empowering them to build confidence, work towards their goals, and improve their mental wellbeing
  • Work one-on-one in the homes and communities of recipients to support them to live as independently as possible
  • Assist recipients with in-home activities such as cleaning, organizing, preparing healthy meals, or maintaining a yard
  • Support recipients in making positive choices
  • Improve recipients' confidence in accessing the community and engaging in activities that will help them achieve their goals
  • Provide transport to and from activities including shopping, going to the gym, attending social events, and appointments
