About The Position

At FOSS, safety is paramount. As a FOSS Lifeguard, you will be responsible for the safety of our students and monitoring the indoor pool deck. This role allows you to collaborate with Swim Teachers and build relationships with students and their families, as they register for weekly classes. We are looking for someone with a positive energy, high attention to detail, and a safety-first mentality to ensure a safe and memorable experience.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must have a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard (deep-water) Certificate prior to being offered the position (must provide copy of certification).
Comfortable working in an indoor pool environment.
Positive attitude and high energy.
Practice effective communication skills.
Ability to work in water and demonstrate the physical movements necessary to teach the FOSS Swim Path curriculum.
Work in an indoor pool facility that will be warm and humid with water temperatures up to 91 degrees.
Ability to work in areas exposed to noise, chemicals, and industrial equipment and supplies.
Speak with others, including children, using clear, professional, and age-appropriate language.

Responsibilities

Provide surveillance of swimmers during designated hours.
Keep the pool area clean and orderly to ensure the safety of the students and customers.
Maintain a high level of readiness. Respond quickly to all emergency situations, administer first aid as necessary, and complete incident reporting.
Ensure and enforce the most effective measures are in place to keep our students safe.
Provide exceptional customer service to all students and families while working collaboratively with other FOSS team members.
