About The Position

As a Lifeguard, you play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all guests utilizing the resort's aquatic facilities. Through constant vigilance, emergency preparedness, and outstanding guest service, you help create a safe and enjoyable environment for families and visitors. Requirements

  • Strong swimming ability and excellent physical fitness.
  • Ability to remain calm and react quickly during emergency situations.
  • Strong awareness of safety hazards and the ability to take appropriate action.
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to enter the water and participate in regular in-water training exercises.
  • Must be able to swim and perform lifeguard duties on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with lifting or moving over 100 pounds when necessary.
  • Must be able to work in wet, humid, outdoor environments, including prolonged sun and heat exposure.
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed.
  • Required to pass a background check, drug test, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must uphold Westgate Resorts' standards of professionalism, safety, and guest service.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous lifeguarding experience preferred.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain constant surveillance of pool and water park areas to ensure guest safety.
  • Identify and respond quickly to emergencies, unsafe conditions, or guests in distress.
  • Administer first aid, CPR, AED assistance, and emergency care as needed.
  • Contact emergency medical services when necessary and assist with emergency response procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of aquatic facilities and surrounding areas.
  • Complete detailed activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation.
  • Participate in scheduled in-service training and ongoing safety certifications.
  • Enforce pool and water safety rules while providing exceptional guest service.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow team members to support daily operations and guest needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
