About The Position

We are currently seeking vigilant and certified lifeguards to join our team and ensure the safety and well-being of our patrons at Winchester Country Club. As a lifeguard, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe aquatic environment and responding promptly to emergencies. Requirements

Current certification in lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid from a recognized training organization (e.g., American Red Cross, YMCA, Ellis & Associates).
Strong swimming skills and physical fitness, with the ability to swim long distances, retrieve objects from the water, and perform rescues in various aquatic environments.
Excellent observation and communication skills, with the ability to remain vigilant and alert for signs of trouble while maintaining a calm and reassuring demeanor.
Ability to work independently and make quick, sound decisions under pressure, prioritizing the safety and well-being of patrons at all times.
Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet the operational needs of the facility.
Minimum age requirement of 16 years or older.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience as a lifeguard or in a related role preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Monitor pool and/or waterfront areas to prevent accidents, enforce safety rules, and respond effectively to emergencies.
Conduct regular surveillance of the aquatic facility, including scanning designated zones, checking water quality, and monitoring weather conditions.
Enforce facility rules and regulations to promote a safe and orderly environment for all patrons, addressing any violations or unsafe behaviors as necessary.
Provide friendly and courteous customer service to patrons, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests in a prompt and professional manner.
Administer first aid, CPR, and emergency care as needed, following established protocols and procedures to stabilize and assist injured or distressed individuals.
Perform water rescues and assists swimmers in distress, utilizing proper techniques and equipment to ensure their safety and well-being.
Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and rescue activities, documenting details and completing necessary paperwork in accordance with facility policies.
Participate in regular training sessions, drills, and skill assessments to maintain proficiency in lifesaving techniques, rescue procedures, and emergency response protocols.
Assist with routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning pool decks, testing water chemistry, and inspecting equipment, to ensure a clean, safe, and operational facility.
Communicate effectively with fellow lifeguards, supervisors, and other staff members to coordinate activities, share information, and promote teamwork.
