About The Position

YES Communities is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents. This role involves ensuring the pool area is safe and secure, enforcing community rules and regulations, and maintaining the cleanliness and stock of the pool and surrounding areas, including bathrooms. The lifeguard will also be a key member in responding to emergencies.

Requirements

• Knowledge and ability to evaluate water conditions at the community.
• Swimming proficiency and comfort in all types of water conditions.
• Ability to judge and evaluate evolving dynamics of individuals participating in pool activities to immediately assess their capabilities and threats to their safety.
• Knowledge of on-site protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies.
• Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services.

Responsibilities

• Warn residents of improper activities or danger and enforce pool regulations and water safety policies.
• Administer first aid in the event of injury, rescue swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administer CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
• Evaluate conditions for safety and initiate emergency action plan as required.
• Inspect pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.
• Supervise and assist in cleaning the pool and related facilities and equipment, assist with chlorine residual water tests and with records and charts of water tests and records of accidents, and add chemicals to pool water as directed.
• Instruct or assist classes in fundamentals of swimming (if necessary).
