About The Position

Team Sheeper, Inc. is seeking Full-Time Lifeguards to join their team at locations in Menlo Park and Palo Alto. The role involves ensuring the safety of pool patrons, interacting professionally with clients and the public, and maintaining a clean and safe facility. Full-time positions are between 28-40 hours per week with flexible scheduling. Paid training is provided, and no prior aquatics experience is necessary, though individuals with backgrounds in police, nursing, firefighting, security, or EMT services are encouraged to apply. The company offers opportunities for upward mobility and access to its facilities and programs.

Requirements

  • Must be able to swim 150 freestyle/breaststroke followed immediately by 2 minutes of hands-free treading, and then 50 freestyle/breaststroke
  • Must be a minimum of 15 years of age
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time
  • Must be self-disciplined, responsible and alert
  • Assertive, courteous, and professional behavior
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must be punctual & have reliable transportation
  • Lifeguard II: Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Lifeguard II: Complete the lifeguard station response time test in under 1 minute and 30 seconds
  • Lifeguard II: Have two years lifeguard experience
  • Lifeguard II: Be cross trained in at least one other department within the Team Sheeper organization
  • Lifeguard II: Maintain 2 points or less in any 6 month period through Team Sheeper attendance policy
  • Lifeguard III: Be certified as an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor
  • Lifeguard III: Have 4 years of lifeguard experience, or 2 years of lifeguard experience and 2 years leadership experience
  • Lifeguard III: Be cross trained in at least 2 other departments within the Team Sheeper organization
  • Lifeguard III: Have attended in-service in person without make ups 10 out 12 in-services

Nice To Haves

  • Current Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications preferred
  • Individuals with police, nursing, firefighting, security, safety or EMT experience are highly encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility
  • Acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency
  • Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services
  • Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service
  • Performs various maintenance and cleaning duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility
  • Follows emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency
  • Other duties as assigned
