About The Position

Lifeguard for Outdoor Community Pool. Certification is Required. The Y offers Free Lifeguard Certification Classes. Ability to Swim and Pass the Prerequisite Test. This is a Busy Pool and requires a commitment to Safety. The Pool operates 7 days per week, so the work schedule includes Saturday and Sunday. Old Colony YMCA Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining a safe environment that promotes ideal guest service in a Family Friendly environment by using the Test, Mark, Protect Protocols.

Requirements

• Certification is Required
• Ability to Swim and Pass the Prerequisite Test
• 2 minute water tread without use of hands
• 10 lb brick recovery from the deep end
• 100 yards or 200 yards swim
• Practical and Written Test

Responsibilities

• The Main Operations of the Pool is 5:00am - 8:30pm weekdays, 7:00am - 5:00pm weekends.
