About The Position

Primary responsibility is to insure patron safety and protect lives. Lifeguards are to provide a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for all guests and staff. Lifeguards will perform all daily duties accordance with Park policies. They will perform opening and closing duties, guard rotations, in service trainings and drills, maintenance and cleaning assignments, and provide customer service. They report directly to the Park Supervisors and Lead Guards.

Requirements

  • You must be 15 years or older to attend a lifeguard swimming requirements test. However, you must be 16 years or older to be a lifeguard for St. Marys
  • Valid certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR required or able to obtain.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs, speak and hear clear enough to facilitate effective communications.
  • Sitting for long periods, walking, standing and stooping required.
  • Outdoor work exposed to sun, heat and various weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Lifeguard experience in a multi-pool facility preferred.
  • Instructor certifications, water testing and pool maintenance experience helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Actively guard all Aquatic Center Attractions
  • Perform scheduled Lifeguard rotations to ensure proper area supervision, following Aquatic Center policies and procedures.
  • Participate in all in-service training as scheduled
  • Communicate any Safety, Maintenance or Guest issues to Management.
  • Perform inventories for cleaning supplies and First Aid supplies.
  • Perform opening duties, closing duties, cleaning duties throughout the day and at closing.
  • Assist other departments as requested.
  • Assist supervisors and guest with complaints concerning the Lifeguard staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
