About The Position

As a Seasonal Lifeguard, your primary focus is maintaining safety while guests enjoy themselves within the pool area. This role involves providing outstanding safety by observing owners/guests in the pool and performing designated rescue practices as needed, ensuring safety according to local, state, and federal health and safety regulations. You will assist and support during emergency care and treatment until the arrival of first responders or emergency medical services. This position requires notifying appropriate authorities and preparing written reports on all accidents, incidents, hazardous conditions, and suspicious persons or activities, as well as maintaining accurate documentation to ensure a clean and safe facility. Lifeguards are expected to maintain communication and relationships with other staff, members, or owners/guests while enforcing established rules fairly and conscientiously. Responsibilities also include routinely inspecting the area for cleanliness, ensuring equipment is in good working condition, performing various maintenance duties, arranging and maintaining pool furniture, confirming log accuracy, and controlling towel inventory to ensure guests always have ample towels available. The role may involve other duties and special projects during the winter season or as assigned by management, with a willingness to "pitch-in" and help co-workers, acting as an outstanding teammate. Knowledge of water rescue methods, lifeguarding, and first-aid practices and techniques is essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent
  • Possess lifeguard, CPR & First Aid certifications
  • Flexible to work any day of the week and any shift to include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to tolerate environmental factors such as humidity, cold/heat, dust and noise.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Requires occasional handling and maneuvering of persons in excess of 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding safety by observing owners/guests in the pool and perform designated rescue practices as needed ensuring safety according to local, state and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Assists and supports during emergency care and treatment in the event of an emergency until the arrival of first responders and/or emergency medical services.
  • Notifies appropriate authorities and prepares written reports on all accidents, incidents, hazardous conditions and suspicious persons or activities. Records documentation to maintain a clean and safe facility.
  • Lifeguards maintain communication and relationships with other staff, members or owners/guests while carrying out our established rules in a fair and conscientious manner.
  • Routinely inspects area to ensure cleanliness, equipment is in good working condition. Performs various maintenance duties, ensure pool furniture is correctly arranged and maintained. Confirms that all logs are up to date and accurate. Controls towel inventory and ensures guests always have ample towels available.
  • May be required to do other duties and special projects during winter season or as assigned by management; willing to "pitch-in" and help co- workers with their job duties and be an outstanding teammate.
  • Knowledge of water rescue methods, life guarding and first – aid practices and techniques.
