As a Seasonal Lifeguard, your primary focus is maintaining safety while guests enjoy themselves within the pool area. This role involves providing outstanding safety by observing owners/guests in the pool and performing designated rescue practices as needed, ensuring safety according to local, state, and federal health and safety regulations. You will assist and support during emergency care and treatment until the arrival of first responders or emergency medical services. This position requires notifying appropriate authorities and preparing written reports on all accidents, incidents, hazardous conditions, and suspicious persons or activities, as well as maintaining accurate documentation to ensure a clean and safe facility. Lifeguards are expected to maintain communication and relationships with other staff, members, or owners/guests while enforcing established rules fairly and conscientiously. Responsibilities also include routinely inspecting the area for cleanliness, ensuring equipment is in good working condition, performing various maintenance duties, arranging and maintaining pool furniture, confirming log accuracy, and controlling towel inventory to ensure guests always have ample towels available. The role may involve other duties and special projects during the winter season or as assigned by management, with a willingness to "pitch-in" and help co-workers, acting as an outstanding teammate. Knowledge of water rescue methods, lifeguarding, and first-aid practices and techniques is essential.
