About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests at the waterpark. The Lifeguard will maintain constant surveillance, respond to emergencies, provide first aid, and assist with the daily operations and cleanliness of the waterpark facilities. The position requires excellent guest service skills, the ability to handle stressful situations, and adherence to all safety and operational standards.

Requirements

  • Operate the waterpark according to standards operating procedures and with exceptional guest service, following all safety and security procedures.
  • Take responsibility for actions and perform work with little or no supervision.
  • Ask for and offer help when needed, including appropriate people in decision making.
  • Must have NLS (National Lifeguarding Services) certification.
  • Must have First Aid certification.
  • Must have CPR level 3 with AED certification.

  • Able to stand 90% of daily shift.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Able to walk 90% of shift.
  • Able to push and pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Frequently swim, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work flexible hours.
  • Contribute to achieving guest loyalty by exceeding expectations and providing warm personal service.
  • Handle guest complaints and comments professionally and provide necessary follow-up.
  • Respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, in-service meetings, and trainings as regulated by brand standards.
  • Evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Effectively handle problems in stressful, high-pressure situations, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems.
  • Make independent decisions while maintaining strong ethical standards and company policy.
  • Understand all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, safety guidelines, and training programs for all waterpark venues.
  • Apply lifesaving skills and first aid to any guest or associate in need.
  • Report all incidents of guests escorted to first aid to the head lifeguard or General Manager, ensuring rescue reports are filled out properly and guest injuries are handled according to waterpark protocols.
  • Assist in daily start-up and closure procedures of waterpark attractions, including trash removal, towel collection and replacement, equipment checks, and lost and found.
  • Maintain constant surveillance of guests in the facility and act immediately and appropriately to secure guest safety in the event of an emergency.
  • Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Ensure all safety equipment is in full operational condition.
  • Ensure the guard room is always clean, organized, and accessible.
  • Ensure clean towels are available for guests, fold fresh towels, and stock shelves.
  • Notify Management of any unusual incidents regarding operation, safety, or security.
  • Assist with other duties and responsibilities associated with the Lifeguard position as assigned.
