The mission of Lake Junaluska is to be a place of Christian hospitality where lives are transformed through renewal of soul, mind and body. This is a seasonal position. Employment for the 2026 season will begin in May, with an anticipated first day of work on or around May 1–2. Pre‑season onboarding may occur in April as scheduled by Human Resources. The Lifeguard supervises swimming activities at the aquatics facility, ensuring policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed. They warn swimmers of dangers, enforce regulations, administer first aid, rescue distressed swimmers, and perform CPR if necessary. The role involves evaluating safety conditions, inspecting facilities and equipment, and assisting with cleaning. Responsibilities also include conducting water tests, adding chemicals, instructing swimming classes, resolving scheduling conflicts, and potentially assisting with recreation concessions stand operations. Compliance with all safety policies and procedures is mandatory, and any unsafe activities or conditions must be reported immediately to a supervisor or Human Resources. Other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the Lake Junaluska mission are also part of the role.
