About The Position

Join our Aquatics Team as an Opener at our beautiful Soul Center YMCA—featuring a shallow, heated indoor saltwater pool! This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking for a consistent morning schedule, a positive team environment, and a meaningful role supporting the safety and experience of our members. As an Aquatics Opener, you’ll help kick off the day by ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming pool environment for our early morning members. Whether you’re lifeguarding, assisting swimmers, or supporting aquatics programming, your role is key to creating a positive start to each day. Not Certified Yet? No problem! We offer FREE lifeguard certification training for qualified candidates—your pathway into aquatics starts here.
Requirements
- A minimum age of 16 years
- Current certifications in: Lifeguarding CPR/AED First Aid Oxygen Administration
- OR a willingness to obtain certifications before starting (training opportunities may be available for the right candidate!)
- A calm, confident presence with strong attention to safety and detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe aquatic environment by monitoring pool areas and enforcing safety guidelines
- Provide friendly, welcoming support to members and swimmers
- Assist with or lead swim instruction using YMCA curriculum (as certified)
- Participate in paid training and ongoing professional development
