About The Position

The Lifeguard’s primary responsibility is to ensure guest safety in the pool areas and provide excellent customer service. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures. This is not an all-encompassing job description. It is dependent on the venue of hire and offered position which will be presented for review and acknowledgment upon hire.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one to three (1-3) months related work experience or training preferred
  • 18+ years of age
  • Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to keep an open and objective view
  • Ability to maintain composure and stay focused
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Must have good positive energy throughout the day
  • Must be able to read and print legibly
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be observant and quick to respond to various situations
  • Must be able to move quickly
  • Must be able to push and lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment

Responsibilities

  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a courteous and polite manner
  • Adhere to all company standard operating procedures
  • Provide information to guests regarding our venues, menus, and pricing
  • Recognize and cultivate regular guests and repeat business
  • Maintain line of sight/atmosphere of the pool, ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the pool area throughout shift
  • Appropriately addresses any issues, concern, or guest violations with guests
  • Recognize and respond effectively to all emergencies
  • Enforce all facility rules and regulations
  • Reports any unsafe conditions to the Pool Manager, Security or Lead Lifeguard
  • Recognize and/or monitor potentially intoxicated and/or disruptive guests and promptly bring to a manager’s attention
  • Comply with all safety and health department procedures as well as Company and/or departmental policies/procedures
  • Assists and/or completes additional tasks as assigned
