About The Position

The Kitchen Steward is responsible for ensuring all service and kitchen wares are clean and sanitized. This role involves interacting with fellow team members and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality. The position requires maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the dish station, the kitchen, and the entire venue, while adhering to Department of Health and company sanitation standards. The Kitchen Steward will also manage the proper storage and removal of garbage and soiled linens, and communicate product needs to chefs or purchasers. Additionally, the role involves performing opening and closing procedures, stocking stations, maintaining and cleaning kitchen equipment, and reporting any equipment or furniture damage immediately to management. The position also requires attending daily pre-service meetings, training sessions, and departmental meetings, learning from observation and sharing knowledge, and portraying a positive and professional attitude. The Kitchen Steward will demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality and its partners, work collaboratively with team members, and assist with additional tasks as assigned.

  • Tao Group Hospitality in-venue dishwasher training

  • Previous porter and/or Dishwasher experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all service/kitchen wares are clean and sanitized.
  • Interact with fellow team members and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Anticipate and accommodate the needs of all employees.
  • Aide in cleaning inside and outside the venue.
  • Proper storage and removal of garbage and soiled linens.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dish station, the kitchen, and the entire venue.
  • Follow supervisor’s instructions, communicate with and support co-workers while being a team player.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the dish machine.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of proper usage of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
  • Possess general knowledge of the venue.
  • Comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
  • Communicate product needs to the chefs and/or purchaser.
  • Properly set-up dish station and perform opening/closing procedures as directed by management.
  • Stock stations with prescribed supplies.
  • Maintain and clean kitchen equipment.
  • Wipe down and sanitize stations.
  • Perform opening side-work as prescribed.
  • Perform closing side-work as prescribed.
  • Report all breakage and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management.
  • Attend and participate in daily pre-service meetings (where applicable).
  • Attend and participate in any training sessions or departmental meetings.
  • Learn by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example.
  • Portray a positive and professional attitude.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments.
  • Work as part of a team and provide help and support to all fellow team members.
  • Assist and/or complete additional tasks as assigned.
