About The Position

Culver Academies is hiring a Lifeguard for its 2027 Summer Schools and Camps. Summer staff help ensure the safety and well-being of campers and students in a culturally diverse, high-challenge, high-support environment. Culver Summer Schools & Camps serves nearly 1,400 young people ages 7–17 each summer on its 1,800-acre campus on the shore of Lake Maxinkuckee in Culver, Indiana. Lifeguards are among the roles that may require more than the standard one-week staff orientation, particularly when certification is required. Waterfront staff arrive June 6, 2027. Culver considers applicants’ education and experience when determining placement.

Requirements

• Be a high school graduate or equivalent and at least 18 years old; at least one year of college is highly preferred.
• Have a desire and ability to work with children and teenagers.
• Demonstrate honesty, self-discipline, consideration, cooperation, and strong leadership skills.
• Be an efficient communicator and positive role model.
• Be in good health and have vitality and physical stamina.
• Maintain professional boundaries with campers, students, and staff.
• Be able to accept supervision and guidance, including evaluations and feedback.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of college is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional boundaries with campers, students, and staff.
• Report to work on time and in proper attire and grooming.

• Maintain a positive and respectful attitude toward coworkers, campers, students, and parents.
• Accept supervision, guidance, evaluations, and feedback.
