About The Position

PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all people in and around the facility’s swimming pool.
May 2026 - August 2026. Flexible schedule - Full time or Part time

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One or more years’ previous lifeguard experience required.
• Must have Lifeguard Certification from an accredited organization.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required.
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Responsibilities

• Prevent injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors in and around the pool.
• Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to all emergencies.
• Administer first aid and CPR, including using an AED and if trained, administer emergency oxygen when needed.
• Rescue distressed swimmers when necessary.
• Enforce the pool rules in an appropriate, fair and equitable manner and explain the rationale for the rule(s) when needed.
• Assist people as needed, but without compromising the safety of others using the facility.
• May perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe pool.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
