About The Position

Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons in aquatic environments. This PRN (as needed) position requires individuals to maintain a high level of fitness and the ability to perform rescues and administer CPR and/or First Aid as needed. The role involves monitoring the water, enforcing rules, and responding to emergencies effectively.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Maintain current certifications in lifeguard training.
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification.
• Standard First Aid certification.
• Defibrillator certification.
• Lifeguard Certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Working knowledge of all safety equipment.
• Ability to execute a life save in various stressful situations.
• Ability to pay close attention and recognize distress in a body of water.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under stress.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of patrons in aquatic environments.
• Maintain a level of fitness and ability to rescue clientele.
• Provide CPR and/or First Aid, and use a defibrillator as needed.
• Maintain current certifications in lifeguard training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and Standard First Aid.
• Maintain current certification in defibrillator use.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all safety equipment.
• Execute life-saving techniques in various stressful situations.
• Pay close attention and recognize distress in individuals in the water.
• Work under stress and contribute to the team environment.
