About The Position

Responsible for safety and discipline of the swimmers and staff. Knowledge of pool activities and operations. Seasonal employment.

Requirements

• Skills in effective operation of the pool and swimmers.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Must be available to work irregular hours and at various intervals, including weekends, holiday and evening hours.
• Must be responsible and work well with people of all ages and dispositions.
• Must have American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR, AED, or ability to obtain. Current certification cards must be presented before employment.
• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises swimmers and their activities.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the pool and area facility.
• Performs rescue and first aid as necessary.
• Files any accident and/or rescue reports as they occur.
• Executes excellent customer service.
• Assists with opening/closing duties.
• Attends required in-service trainings.
• Maintains an attentive lookout for potential accidents in the swimming pool and surrounding facility and appropriately corrects any problems.
• Enforces pool rules & regulations.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the pool/gate/restroom facility.
• Monitors waterslides for proper patron use and dispatches swimmers (only 16 years and up.)
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
