About The Position

Responsible for the overall safety of all individuals in the pool area, enforcement of safety rules and rules of the pool, and daily and routine maintenance of the swimming pool and surrounding area during their shift.

Requirements

Current and valid Lifeguard certification (American Red Cross or the equivalent)
Current and valid annual First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications (American Red Cross or the equivalent)
Knowledge of pool operations and swimmer supervision
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
High attention to detail, organization and follow through
Dependable and self-motivated
Ability to be at work regularly and on time
Ability to work weekends or extended hours, as required
Reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

Supervise all swimmers and non-swimmers at the community pool
Explaining and enforcing rules, regulations and policies to ensure safety of patrons
Warning swimmers regarding unsafe situations
Maintaining order in swimming areas
Responding to emergencies and rescuing swimmers in danger of drowning
Performing first aid procedures when needed
Maintain the safety equipment, poolside
Monitor pool equipment and chemical levels
Vacuum and maintain the cleanliness of the pool
Maintain the visual integrity of the pool area
Water flowers, sweep deck, pull weeds, empty trash
Maintain all pool records and reports
Inspect the pool area, daily, and report any unsafe conditions to the Office
Other duties as assigned
