As a Y Lifeguard, you will help create a safe, welcoming, and positive aquatic environment for members, guests, and program participants. You will actively monitor the pool, respond to emergencies, enforce safety requirements, and support the daily care and operation of the aquatic area. The role calls for alertness, dependability, calm responses in emergencies, clear communication, consistent enforcement of pool rules, and a commitment to positive experiences for people of all ages and backgrounds. Lifeguards work independently while contributing to an aquatic team and must have flexibility to work opening, closing, and weekend shifts. Eligible lifeguards may earn up to $400 in new-hire bonuses. The $100 sign-on bonus requires completing onboarding and training, remaining actively employed for at least 30 calendar days, maintaining a current Lifeguard certification, and working at least two priority shifts per week during the eligibility period. An additional $300 retention bonus requires active employment for at least 90 calendar days (including the initial 30 days), a current Lifeguard certification, and at least two priority shifts per week during the eligibility period. Priority shifts include opening, closing, and weekend shifts. Eligibility is confirmed after employment, certification, training, and scheduling requirements are verified; bonuses are subject to applicable payroll withholdings. The anticipated pay range is $16–$22.17 per hour. Placement within the range is based on relevant experience, education, qualifications, and internal equity.
