Requirements

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
• Arrive prepared, professional, and on time
• Maintain a safe, positive, and organized learning environment
• Communicate clearly with participants, parents, and YMCA staff
• Attend required meetings and trainings
• Submit required course records and documentation on time

Responsibilities

• Teach American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and AED courses
• Lead engaging classroom and in-water instruction for participants of all experience levels
• Ensure students complete course requirements and maintain accurate class documentation
• Enforce pool safety standards and YMCA policies throughout training
• Provide constructive feedback and support to help participants succeed
• Assist with special aquatics programs and instructor development opportunities
