About The Position

Montgomery County Department of Recreation is a nationally recognized and award-winning agency with a mission to provide high quality, diverse, and accessible community-based programs, activities, and services that serve the recreation and leisure needs of the Montgomery County community. The department manages 39 facilities including recreation centers, senior centers, and indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities and provides thousands of programs such as out-of-school activities, aquatics, classes, youth and adult sports programs and leagues, senior programs, and therapeutic recreation. We are looking for newly trained lifeguards to join our team! This role is ideal for individuals who are excited about their first job in aquatics. Lifeguard I will have the opportunity to work at both indoor and outdoor facilities.

Requirements

Ability to read and write in English.
Current Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid and AED certifications from the American Red Cross or other agency approved by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services.
Aquatics positions require the Medical History Review with a Drug/Alcohol screen.

Nice To Haves

Some work experience as a participant or instructor in one or more recreation activities is preferred.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to demonstrate swimming skills and work in the water for extended periods.
Ability to apply business English, spelling, grammar, arithmetic, and office procedures.
