About The Position

Under general supervision, performs technical tasks to ensure the safety of all beach patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies, monitoring swimming and beach activities, enforcing water safety rules and regulations, and performing maintenance in compliance with policies and procedures. This role involves completing various safety inspection tasks, ensuring safety equipment is in good working order, maintaining the cleanliness of the first aid station, and ensuring it is stocked with appropriate supplies. The position also includes completing related administrative tasks for the department, such as logs, accident and incident reports, and work order request forms. Additionally, the lifeguard will patrol the beach to ensure City ordinances are adhered to and monitor the cleanliness of the beach.

Requirements

High School Education or equivalent is desirable.
No experience required.
ARC Lifeguard certification.
CPR certification.
First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

Ensures the safety of all beach patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.
Monitors swimming and beach activities.
Enforces water safety rules and regulations.
Performs maintenance in compliance with policies and procedures.
Completes safety inspection tasks.
Ensures safety equipment is in good working order.
Maintains first aid station for cleanliness and ensures it is stocked.
Completes administrative tasks including logs, accident and incident reports, and work order request forms.
Reviews and updates EAPs, pool procedures inventory records, and related records.
Patrols beach to ensure City ordinances are adhered to.
Monitors the cleanliness of the beach.
Responds to emergency situations.
May drive a passenger van for the City.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
