The Life Skills Trainer provides direct support and assistance to individuals in accordance with their service or program plans. This role involves helping individuals with socialization, behavioral development, personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, community orientation, shopping, financial management, citizenship, and other activities of daily living. The trainer is responsible for accurately documenting progress, maintaining confidentiality, and managing individuals' assets and property. They also play a crucial role in healthcare, which may include accompanying individuals to appointments, administering medications if assigned, monitoring general health, and ensuring the proper use of medical equipment. Additionally, the role involves maintaining the living environment through housekeeping, minor repairs, and ensuring safety, including vehicle safety if transportation is provided. The trainer must adhere to all safety policies, report incidents, and maintain professional relationships with individuals, families, and case managers.
