About The Position

Assist the Group Home Manager and lead program staff in supporting adults with disabilities in a residential setting at Blue River Services, Inc., promoting independence, health, safety, daily living skills, and community involvement while maintaining a positive and structured home environment. Responsible for leading second-shift home operations, supporting staff scheduling, documenting resident progress, and mentoring new Life Skills Instructors.

  • Ability to teach and reinforce daily living skills effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build professional, respectful relationships with residents and staff.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage residential operations.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to assist residents with physical and daily living needs.
  • Ability to remain active throughout the shift, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required.
  • Ability to travel for trainings, meetings, and transportation needs.
  • Adult CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Preventing Disease Transmission (Bloodborne Pathogens) certification.
  • Core A & B Medication Training.
  • CRT (Certified Restraint Training) certification.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle liability insurance.
  • Maintain reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma from an accredited school or equivalent (preferred).
  • One year of experience working in a residential setting for individuals with disabilities (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive home environment for residents.
  • Provide supervision and instruction in daily living skills, including social skills, self-care, domestic tasks, and money management.
  • Promote resident independence, personal choice, dignity, and community involvement.
  • Plan and implement recreational and leisure activities, including weekend programming.
  • Support development and implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISP) and Person-Centered Plans.
  • Document resident progress toward goals and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with household management tasks and ensure completion of assigned duties per maintenance checklists.
  • Support and assist with staff scheduling and home coverage needs.
  • Lead and support second-shift operations within the home.
  • Cover open shifts as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and consumer information.
