About The Position

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation is seeking Caregivers/Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide personal care for individuals in their senior community, those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and others in need of assistance. This role involves providing care in a group home or home-like setting, with the goal of helping people live their best lives. The Texas Hill Country School, located on 43 acres outside San Marcos, Texas, is a residential school licensed as a residential treatment center by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and approved by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) as a non-public school. This program specializes in working with children and adolescents, ages 6-22, who have acquired brain injuries, developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorder, and other neurological and psychological problems. The school provides a continuum of care, moving individuals outside of institutional settings into their natural home and community environment. Day services are also available for students who need a specialized educational setting but wish to live at home with their families.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to communicate both verbal and written.
Capable of working responsibly with confidential information.
Must be able to work independently.
Ability to work in a home-like setting.
At least 21 years old per licensing requirement.
Acceptable background check.
Valid driver license.

Responsibilities

Provide various personal caregiving services in accordance with an established plan of direct care.
Provide for the personal needs and comfort of people in their own homes.
Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
Prepare meals and special diets.
Perform general housekeeping activities.
Provide transportation assistance to and from activities.
Provide compassionate companionship to patients.
Other duties as assigned.
