About The Position

Spread Your Wings, LLC. – ILS Services is hiring a Life Skills Coach (also described as a Life Skills Mentor/Coach) to support individuals with developmental disabilities in building independence and confidence in daily life. The role covers the San Jose area, including Santa Clara and North and East San Jose, and requires English/Spanish bilingual ability. The position is described as part-time to full-time, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. About 90% of the time is spent in the field with clients and 10% on administration and documentation. Compensation is $22 per hour. The company offers team support, training, and career growth and advancement opportunities.

Requirements

Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
Able to work and commute in and around Santa Clara and North and East San Jose.
Able to pass a background check in accordance with state industry standards.
Computer literacy, including MS Word, email, and basic data entry.
Strong communication skills, dependability, and creative problem-solving ability.
Able to work independently in one-on-one settings with clients.
Able to work flexible hours and adapt to different client needs.
A patient, compassionate, and respectful approach to supporting others.

Nice To Haves

Behavioral health experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Coach clients in developing independent living skills, such as cooking, budgeting, and hygiene.
Encourage, motivate, and support clients with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges.
Help plan, create, and organize weekly goals and schedules suited to clients.
Document client progress through case notes and quarterly reports.
Spend approximately 90% of work time in the field with clients and 10% on administrative work and documentation.
Collaborate with program managers, regional center coordinators, and training staff.
