The Life Sciences Laboratory Manager is responsible for the efficient management of day-to-day operations of the Life Sciences laboratories (including biology, chemistry, neuropsychology, and psychology labs) at the UNH Manchester campus. This position will oversee and manage laboratory operations including ordering and preparing undergraduate and graduate teaching laboratories; ensuring safety and compliance protocols and procedures are followed in all laboratories; overseeing and keeping records of budgets and spending from Life Sciences budgets as well as Faculty and student grants associated with their research in the Department; maintaining and installing laboratory equipment and conducting space utilization planning in the laboratories; conducting user training and arranging equipment certification and calibration; hiring and managing undergraduate and graduate student lab and research assistants and approving timesheets for that work; and developing, delivering, and assessing high-impact educational programming for UNH undergraduate and graduate students in core and elective coursework. This position will guarantee the lab meets or exceeds all University E&HS standards and work with relevant UNH research and compliance committees to ensure those standards. The position will also liaise with the Biotechnology Innovation Center Assistant Director to develop efficiencies, synergies, and collaborations that benefit both the Life Sciences and BIC organizations at UNH in Manchester.
