Role Overview We are looking for a talented Life Safety Sprinkler Systems Service Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will represent the company professionally, estimate and quote service work on fire sprinkler systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities, and help grow the sprinkler service business by building strong customer relationships and identifying new opportunities.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in the fire sprinkler industry.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent sales, presentation, and closing skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency using personal computers, including Windows, Word, Excel, Salesforce, and job costing systems.
  • Ability and willingness to work well with others as a team player.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical knowledge of fire sprinkler systems.
  • 2+ years of experience selling in the fire industry.
  • Experience reading blueprints and working with current NFPA 13 standards and local codes.
  • Ability to stay organized and plan ahead.
  • NICET Certification in either inspection and testing of water-based systems or water-based systems layout.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Johnson Controls professionally in the field while selling fire sprinkler service offerings to an assigned customer base.
  • Estimate and quote repairs, upgrades, moves, adds, changes, renovations, and retrofits for fire sprinkler systems.
  • Manage the full sales process from uncovering opportunities through solution development, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and closing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, general contractors, and end users.
  • Identify customer needs and develop a sales strategy that aligns company capabilities with customer goals.
  • Develop and maintain an active proposal backlog to support sales plan objectives.
  • Prepare financial justifications, presentations, and follow-up activities needed to close business successfully.
  • Coordinate with sales, technical, design engineering, service, support, and management teams to meet customer expectations.
  • Conduct building surveys to support estimate development and accurate solution design.
  • Investigate and resolve customer concerns related to delivery dates, billing, financing, and other account matters.
  • Maintain established accounts through regular customer contact and pursue additional sales opportunities.
  • Perform periodic market investigations within the assigned territory and provide sales forecasting.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all sales-related activities.
  • Own your sales pipeline with accountability, accuracy, and integrity from first contact to final close.
  • Stay close to the customer, uncover real needs, and remove obstacles that stand in the way of a successful outcome.
  • Use strong organization, clear communication, and steady follow-through to move proposals forward and close opportunities.
  • Work side by side with technical, service, and management partners to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Look for ways to improve every day by learning from the work, acting with candor, and solving problems quickly.
  • Contribute as one team, sharing information, building trust, and respecting diverse perspectives.
  • Use blueprints, job details, and field findings to prepare estimates and propose the right solution for each opportunity.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while keeping priorities organized and sales activity well documented.
