About The Position
This is a seasonal lifeguard position, typically from May to September. The role offers a chance to serve and protect in a shark-free environment, with the potential to earn a seasonal bonus. It's presented as a great starting point for a career, regardless of the ultimate path.
Requirements
- Current American Red Cross lifeguard certification, CPR/AED for the professional rescuer (required)
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Strong swimming skills
- Ability to see and hear members, alert staff and communicate effectively
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Keep a watchful eye on the swimmers in water
- Monitor pool activities
- Have that rescue tube and whistle ready at all times while on duty
- Ensure that guests NOT in the water stay safe on the pool deck
- Help keep the pool/pool deck neat and tidy
- Balance keeping everyone safe while also making them feel welcome
- Embrace and model the JCC Internal Service Standards of Respect, Gratitude, Communication, The Golden Rule, and Ownership/Accountability
