About The Position
Florida Atlantic University is seeking several Lifeguards for its Jupiter campus. The Aquatic center lifeguards are primarily responsible for guest safety. This includes maintaining equipment, enforcing guidelines, member service, and keeping areas clean and well organized. This is a temporary student position within the Division of Student Affairs: Campus Recreation.
Requirements
- FAU degree-seeking undergraduate student with a minimum of six credit hours (or twelve if international)
- 2.5 GPA required
Responsibilities
- Reports to the Assistant Director of Facility Operations
- Open and close pool, depending on schedule and hours
- Responsible to act as first responder in the event of an emergency
- Monitor activities in the pool or on the pool deck closely and identify any safety issues
- Observe weather to ensure guest safety
- Maintain a clean environment in and around the pool
- Provide assistance to patrons when appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
