As an Activity Coordinator, you’ll design and lead engaging programs that promote dignity, independence, and social connection in a warm, home-like environment. Position Summary: Plans and facilitates individualized and group activities based on resident interests, strengths, and needs. Builds meaningful relationships through engagement, supports cognitive and physical well-being, and contributes to a positive community atmosphere.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with seniors preferred
- Strong communication, creativity, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate, energetic, and resident-focused mindset
- Willingness to complete ongoing training and development
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead engaging recreational and therapeutic activities
- Provide meaningful one-on-one resident interaction and support
- Adapt programs for varying cognitive and physical abilities, including dementia care
- Plan monthly activity calendars, newsletters, and special events
- Coordinate outings, transportation, and community engagement activities
- Maintain activity supplies, records, and program spaces
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident well-being
- Foster a welcoming, positive, and engaging environment
