We’re looking for an enthusiastic Life Enrichment Director to bring creativity and joy to our residents' daily experiences! As a Life Enrichment Director, you will implement therapeutic activity and life enrichment programs for our residents. Your role includes supporting volunteers and leading holistic activity programs that align with our person-centered care philosophy, ensuring a high level of care and engagement.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- 2-3 years experience in Skilled nursing facility
- Familiarity with CMS/ CDPH regulations/ documentation/ care plan/ care conference/ MDS/ trauma informed care.
- Eligible for certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or as an activities professional (nationally recognized)
- At least 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program in the last 5 years -- with at least 1 year full-time in a therapeutic activities program
- Be a qualified Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Completed a state-approved training course relevant to activities coordination
Nice To Haves
- Some college or degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Education, or related field
- Two (2) + years of experience working with older adults, in long-term care, recreation, or activities programming
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Finger Print Clearance Card
- State/National Activities Professional certification — such as: Certified Activity Director (ADC) or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
Responsibilities
- Create activity calendar for low and high functioning groups.
- Manage activities team.
- Be a active participant in multi disciplinary team meetings, IDT, psychotropic and QA committees
