The Life Enrichment Coordinator, under the direction of the Life Enrichment Program Manager, is responsible for assisting with the coordination, implementation, and recording of activities and recreation programming for residents in the Health Services areas, adhering to established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Publisher.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a social or recreation program, preferably in an assisted living, healthcare, or CCRC activities program.
  • Resident Activities Director (RAD) Certification, degree in therapeutic recreation, or NAAP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and organizes activity and life enrichment programs in Health Services areas, aligning with St. James Place's vision and mission.
  • Collaborates with the Program Manager and other staff to resolve issues and enhance services.
  • Schedules and conducts life enrichment activities with residents, including off-site outings.
  • Ensures daily to-do list items are consistently completed or delegated.
  • Evaluates safe work and activity practices, ensuring resident safety, security, and rights.
  • Assists with the safe transportation of residents for activities and outings.
  • Assesses individual resident needs for activities and motivates participation.
  • Reports concerns regarding staffing, programming, or resident changes to the Program Manager.
  • Maintains cleanliness and neatness in activity rooms and storage areas.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with staff to foster a team approach to activity planning.
  • Attends departmental and management meetings as required.
  • Provides written and/or oral reports on programs and activities.
  • Meets regularly with staff to develop, conduct, and evaluate activities.
  • Participates in continuing education for personal and professional growth.
