The Life Enrichment Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the overall quality of life for residents in assisted living, memory care, and healthcare households. As a fully integrated member of the household team, you will help shape each resident’s daily experience—supporting their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well‑being through meaningful engagement and individualized programming. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience working with older adults, activity experience preferred, including knowledge of various resident activities and familiarity with possible resident limitations and needs.
  • Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels, including residents, staff, families, external vendors/authorities, and the public.
  • Strong attention to detail in writing, proofreading, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating a cooperative, respectful, and compassionate approach to colleagues and resident care.
  • Skilled in the use of standard office equipment and technology.
  • Maintains professionalism, composure, and a positive attitude when managing challenging situations.
  • Physically able to move throughout the workday and lift items up to 25 pounds using safe handling practices.
  • May be necessary to assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations.
  • Complies with organizational health and safety requirements, including vaccination policies or valid exemptions.

Responsibilities

  • Promote resident-centered care by honoring individual preferences in daily routines and activities.
  • Coordinate and implement engaging activity programs tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including one-on-one visits, group activities, and intergenerational or community events.
  • Participate in and lead daily programs, encouraging resident involvement and ensuring safety during all activities.
  • Escort residents to and from activities and off-site events, fostering social engagement and connection.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and well-stocked activity and dining areas.
  • Provide dining support by participating in meal service, monitoring proper food handling and sanitation, ensuring dietary needs are met, and restocking country kitchens daily.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks (e.g., food temperatures, taste tests, service standards) and maintain accurate records and audits as required.
  • Educate and support staff on dining procedures, safety protocols, and person-centered care practices.
  • Maintain necessary supplies for both activities and dining programs.
  • Communicate regularly with residents to assess satisfaction, gather feedback, and promote overall well-being.
  • Complete and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, including activity participation and resident responses.
  • Distribute calendars, handouts, mail, and other materials as needed.
  • Foster an atmosphere of acceptance, compassion, and respect that supports resident adjustment to life in the healthcare or assisted living environment.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and report concerns, unsafe conditions, or suspected neglect to the appropriate parties.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
