About The Position

Heritage Senior Living is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Life Enrichment / Activities Assistant to help create meaningful, engaging experiences for our residents. Whether you’re leading a game, helping with a craft, enjoying music together, accompanying residents on an outing, or simply sitting down for a one-on-one conversation, you’ll have the opportunity to make a difference every day. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, and visitors.
  • Ability to meet applicable pre-employment, training, and regulatory requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous activities, recreation, senior living, healthcare, hospitality, childcare, or customer-service experience is preferred but not required.
  • CNA certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Create Fun & Meaningful Experiences: Lead and assist with group activities, games, crafts, music, exercise, entertainment, celebrations, and other resident programs. Encourage residents to participate while respecting individual interests, preferences, and abilities. Spend one-on-one time with residents who may prefer individual activities or simply enjoy conversation and companionship. Provide engaging sensory activities and other programming appropriate to resident needs. Adapt activities so residents of varying abilities can comfortably participate and feel included. Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and positive energy to resident programs.
  • Help Residents Stay Connected: Personally invite residents to programs and encourage them to get involved. Assist residents with getting to and from activities and events. Help plan and participate in community outings and special events. Assist with communicating outing information to residents and families. Help residents build friendships and remain connected with others throughout the community.
  • Support a Great Resident Experience: Get to know residents and learn about their interests, preferences, hobbies, and life experiences. Help create an environment where residents feel welcomed, valued, and included. Work collaboratively with caregivers, CNAs, nursing, and other departments to support resident participation. Assist volunteers and students participating in community programs. Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming activity spaces. Help ensure supplies and equipment are available for scheduled programs.
  • Resident Safety & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of resident activity participation in the Point of Care (POC) system. Complete activity-related documentation as requested. Stay attentive to resident needs and immediately report significant changes or concerns to the appropriate nursing team member. Identify and report potential safety concerns or hazardous conditions. Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality. Follow Heritage Senior Living policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. Participate in required training, in-services, and continuing education.
