Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D.
  • Knowledge of Title XXII and OBRA preferred.
  • Understands the aspects of leading an activity.
  • The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with the elderly in a recreational setting preferred.
  • Previous experience working with residents with Alzheimer's and other dementias greatly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing various social Life Enrichment for the social, physical, and mental welfare of the residents in Memory Care.
  • Assisting the Life Enrichment Director in planning, organizing and implementing various Life Enrichment programs.
  • Assisting with the creation of programs for residents who require memory support.
  • Meeting the residents' needs and interests, taking into account the abilities and physical limitations of each individual resident.
  • Participating in the residents' plan of care and documenting residents' specific interests and participation.
  • Documenting attendance at activities.
  • Operating equipment such as VCRs, P.A. systems, projection systems, etc. in an appropriate manner.
  • Maintaining those systems in a working manner and providing preventative maintenance as appropriate.
  • Working with volunteer staff to ensure smooth operations of Life Enrichment programs.
  • Ability to utilize redirecting skills when interacting with residents.
