About The Position

Responsible to assist the Life Enrichment Director in planning and leading a variety of activity programs designed to meet the resident’s social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory needs in Memory Care.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-year activities experience in independent retirement, assisted living, adult day services or long-term care facility serving a senior population.
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to use basic Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) computer programs.
  • Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
  • Group leadership and interpersonal skills to lead one on one, small, and large group activities.
  • Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident’s best interest.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good work ethic
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak, and understand English

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with planning, promotion, and facilitating/leading each event or program.
  • Assessing resident’s recreational and social needs.
  • Supporting development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
  • Leading small, large, and one on one activity programs with seniors.
  • Researching and recommending entertainment/educational speakers/church representatives, etc.
  • Coordinating transportation needs to outside events/programs in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Accompanying residents on field trips as assigned.
  • Working cooperatively with assigned volunteers and directing their assignments to support the resident programming.
  • Other duties as assigned.
