Life Enrichment/Activities Assistant
About The Position
Iris Memory Care is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Life Enrichment Assistant to join our team in Rowlett, Texas. Our community specializes in caring for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. We believe every resident deserves purpose, connection, joy, and meaningful engagement each day — and our Life Enrichment team plays a huge role in making that happen. If you are creative, patient, relationship-driven, and enjoy making a positive impact in the lives of seniors, we would love to meet you. The Life Enrichment Assistant helps plan and lead activities that support residents’ emotional, social, cognitive, and physical well-being. This role works closely with residents throughout the day and helps create a warm, engaging environment throughout the community.
Requirements
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
- Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and communicate with seniors living with dementia
- Creative, energetic, and team-oriented
- Must be able to pass background check and meet employment requirements
Nice To Haves
- Previous senior living, memory care, activities, childcare, customer service, or healthcare experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead and assist with daily activities, events, games, crafts, music, exercise, and social engagement
- Encourage resident participation and build positive relationships with residents and families
- Support outings, special events, and holiday celebrations
- Assist with activity setup, decorating, organization, and cleanup
- Help maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere throughout the community
- Work collaboratively with caregivers, nursing staff, and leadership
- Adapt activities to meet the unique needs of residents living with dementia
