This position combines field data acquisition with office-based processing, mapping, and quality control. The role involves performing field data acquisition for surveying, LiDAR, photogrammetry, and mapping projects. Key responsibilities include operating GNSS/GPS survey equipment, setting and collecting aerial targets and ground control points, assisting with UAS LiDAR and photogrammetry missions, and operating terrestrial laser scanners. The technician will also collect survey and mapping data along various sites, perform field quality checks, identify potential acquisition problems, download and organize field data, maintain documentation, and perform routine equipment maintenance. Additionally, the role includes office processing tasks such as processing UAS LiDAR and photogrammetry datasets, assisting with processing mobile LiDAR and terrestrial laser scanning data, registering and cleaning point-cloud datasets, performing 3D feature extraction, developing breaklines, generating DTMs and contours, and assisting with mapping deliverables. Quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of data and deliverables are crucial, along with identifying and resolving data issues and assisting with workflow improvements.
